Thousands of residents were evacuated and the Texas AM University campus closed Thursday as a fire burned at a chemical plant that processes explosive ammonium nitrate.Black smoke settled over Bryan, a city of about 80,000 people about 100 miles north of Houston, after the fire started about noon at the nearby El Dorado Chemical Co., said fire dispatcher Andy Throne. The plant blends and packages fertilizer and other chemicals, including ammonium nitrate, a chemical used to make explosives. No explosions had been reported as of Thursday evening. The body of Christ is now gluten-free 鈥?at least it is at a handful of churches in Charleston, South Carolina.According to The Post and Courier, at least three churches in Charleston are offering gluten-free communion wafers for Holy Eucharist.Traditionally, the Christian sacrament consists of unleavened wheatbread and wine. Gluten, a protein found in wheat, can cause stomach issues for believers with Celiac disease. However, St. Stephen s Episcopal Church, Grace Church Cathedral and First Scots Presbyterian Church are among the congregations that are offering communion wafers without gluten for those that need it.According to The Post and Courier, about five of St. Stephen s 170 members receive gluten-free adidas original campus wafers, which are placed in a separateplate from the traditional wafers.Gluten-free bread has be adidas campus 00s en controversial in Christianityas the option has grown in popularity in the past few hoka wanderschuh years. According to both Fox News and the BBC, Cardinal Robert Sarah issued aletter in 2017 reminding Catholics that gluten-free wafers should not be used. Sarah wrote that the gluten in the bread was needed for the wafers to be made without additives.Sarah added that low-gluten options could be used for communion wafers. His letter was released at the direction of Pope Francis.Catholics with Celiac disease are still able to receive Holy Communion by drinking wine, as receiving just bread or wine is sufficient for the sacrament.Alex Hider is a writer for the E.W. President Donald Trump s administration plans to propose a new rule Friday that would bar abortions at facilities receiving federal family planning funds, according to two people familiar with the plans -- a move aimed squarely at Planned Parenthood, which accepts some federal money for non-abortion services.Long sought by conservatives, the step would take the administration s push to curtail abortions further. <a href=https://www.salomons.com.es>salomon xt</a> There are already laws in place that prevent federal money from directly funding abortions, but groups like Planned Parenthood still accept federal dollars for services like annual screenings and checkups. This proposal does not necessarily defund Planned Parenthood, as long as they re willing to disentangle taxpayer funds from abortion as a method of family planning, which is required by the Title X law, said a Trump administration official. Any grantees that perform, support, o <a href=https://www.airforces.us>air force</a> r re <a href=https://www.skecher.com.de>sketcher sportschuhe</a> fer for abortion have a choice -- disentangle themselves from abortion or fund their activities with privately raised funds. Under the new rule, those services would have to be performed in a different place than abortions, and by different employees, if the facility is to continue receiving federal family planning dollars.Planned Parenthood receives some of its funding from those programs, known as Title X. But the bulk of the federal money it receives comes from Medicaid, and would not be affected by the new rule.The-CNN-Wire鈩? 漏 2018 Cable News Network, Inc., a Time Warner Compan

Pounded and strained by heavy traffic and weakened by missing bolts and cracking steel, the failed Minnesota bridge over the Mississippi River also faced a less obvious enemy: Birds.Inspectors began documenting the buildup of pigeon dung on the span near downtown Minneapolis two decades ago.Experts say the corrosive guano deposited all over the span s framework helped the steel beams rust faster. Although investigators have yet to identify the cause of the bridge s Aug. 1 collapse, which killed at least 13 people and injured about 100, the pigeon problem is one of many factors that dogged the structure. There is a coating of pigeon dung on steel with nest and heavy buildup on the inside hollow box sections, stanley mug inspectors wrote in a 1987-1989 report. In 1996, screens were installed over openings in the bridge s beams to keep pigeons from nesting there, but that did not prevent the building of droppings elsewhere.Pigeon droppings contain ammoni stanley polska a and acids, said chemist Neal Langerman, an officer with the health and safety division of the American Chemical Society. If the dung is not washed away, it dries out and turns into a concentrated salt. Older generations often built up nest eggs or had savings accounts of extra funds in case of a disaster. The younger generation, though, specifically those between the ages of 18 to 35, find it much harder to save in today s economy. They cite large student loan payments, the recent economic crash, and the increasing cost of living among the reasons they have few savings. Other reasons millennials blame for their lack of savings include the lack of increase in the minimum wage and the over-reliance on credit cards. It is not necessarily from lack of trying. Some younger consumers have tried following the saving methods of their parents and older consumers, but those techniques no longer seem to work. Some blame it on the lack of tools.
