I’m trying to avoid mistakes before applying to drive passengers in NYC, especially when it comes to insurance. My current policy definitely won’t work, and most standard insurers don’t seem familiar with the requirements for drivers working under the city’s transportation regulations. I’m thinking it might be better to talk to someone who specializes in this area. Does anyone know where drivers usually look for help arranging the correct insurance coverage?

I was preparing documents to register my car for passenger service in NYC and kept running into problems because personal insurance doesn’t cover rideshare work. After speaking with several companies that couldn’t help, I found a TLC insurance broker at https://www.ayroyal.com/tlc-insurance/ . They walked me through the process, explained exactly which coverage is required by the city, and helped me organize all the paperwork correctly. The broker also provided tips on how to avoid mistakes that could delay my TLC approval. Once I followed their guidance, I finally secured the proper insurance and felt ready to start driving passengers safely and legally.

Great post clarifying requirements for black car or rideshare services. I like how you explained documentation and licensing, but adding details on who is eligible for accident benefits in ontario would make it even clearer for drivers and passengers. Overall, very helpful and practical read for beginners.
