BOTH INTERNATIONAL & INLAND Which statement is TRUE regarding equipment for sound signals?
A) Automatic sounding of the signals is not permitted.
B) Any vessel over 12 meters in length must be provided with a gong.
C) A vessel of less than 12 meters in length need not have any sound signaling equipment.
D) Manual sounding of the bell and gong must always be possible.

correct answer this site provides is D "Manual sounding of the bell and gong must always be possible," however, this requirement is dependent upon the size of the vessel, NOT that it "must always be possible."

If my vessel is over 100 meters the answer would make sense, but the question does not specify the length of the vessel. The requirements to pass the test are very high, attention and accurate-see of the questions should be followed. Just saying!!
