Hopefully someone out there finds this useful.

Sound in dry air travels 1116.45 ft per a second in dry air.

Step 1: Convert feet to asking distance asked. In this case it’s in miles. So 1116.48(you must memorise this #)/6076.11(found in bowditch conversion table if you don’t have it on the top of your head). =.18374

Step 2: Multiply this against HALF the time in seconds. Makes sense because it’s gotta go there and then back. So in this case it would 8.15*.18374= 1.49 nm (ANS)
