| Seriously, though, how many features do you REALLY need in a PIM if you're just starting out and have a relatively small catalog? I'm seeing all these demos with crazy workflows and data governance tools, and it feels like overkill. Are we just being upsold on features we simply won't use? Maybe a simple spreadsheet is better than a complex, expensive PIM system we don't even understand. I'm starting to think PIMs are designed for huge enterprise operations, not little guys like us. | |

| I totally get that feeling. It's easy to get overwhelmed by all the features some systems offer. I found this article helpful, actually, because it directly addresses that concern. Check it out: https://piminto.com/piminto-vs-akeneo-the-smart-alternative-for-growing-businesses. It basically argues that many growing businesses end up paying for a lot of Akeneo's features that they just don't use. The article makes a case for simpler alternatives, focusing on essential functionality without the unnecessary complexity. | |

| It's a valid point. The software world, in general, often seems to push towards complexity. Companies add features to compete, but sometimes those features just end up cluttering the interface and confusing users. Finding the right balance between functionality and usability is key, especially when you're dealing with a smaller catalog and don't need all the bells and whistles of an enterprise-level system. Simplicity can be a real advantage. | |
