Lately I’ve been wondering if it makes sense to have separate axes for training and tournaments. I use the same one for everything, and after a year it’s pretty beaten up. During normal practice it’s fine, but when I imagine using it in an official fight, I’m not sure it still meets all the expectations. A guy from another team told me he always keeps one axe just for events and another for daily abuse in training. Is that really necessary, or is it more of a personal preference thing? |

| I used to think one axe was enough until I actually failed a quick equipment check before a small event because of wear. Since then, I’ve kept my training axe for daily practice and a cleaner one for competitions. When I was choosing the second one, I looked through https://medievalextreme.com/axes/ to compare options and rules, and that made the decision easier. Having a dedicated buhurt axe for tournaments gave me peace of mind, and I stopped worrying about small dents or damage right before a fight. | |

| Was just browsing new threads and came across this discussion. It’s interesting to see how people manage their gear long-term, not just for performance but also for practicality. Even in other sports, having separate equipment for training and competition seems pretty common. Nice to see similar habits here too, makes a lot of sense when you think about it. | |
