| We adopted our daughter two years ago and she has a really tough background. She's been showing signs of trauma that regular school counseling just isn't addressing. Her pediatrician referred us to a specialist but the waiting lists are insane. Looking for any tips on finding a child psychiatrist without waiting months. | |

| Been through something similar with my niece after she was adopted from a rough foster situation. School counseling barely scratched the surface, and the waitlists for child psych were months out. What helped was reaching out beyond local referrals and asking adoption support groups for private clinics that accept new patients faster. One family I know got in sooner through a clinic like child psychiatrist near me accepting new patients while still keeping on cancellation lists everywhere else. It’s not instant, but sometimes persistence + multiple parallel paths makes a real difference. | |
