| This question would cause anyone to not understand what B is concerned about. Perhaps they need to talk by VHF radio and understand what is the problem because normally the sailboat would be the stand on vessel. There is not enough information to make a sound decision. Just because you sound the 5 sounds doesnt mean that you automatically get to become the stand on vessel. That was NEVER the intent of the danger whistle of 5 sounds. Please please have someone read over the questions before submitting them. I want to learn and am learning quite a bit on this site but there are questions that in real life would not be enough to make a decision. | |

| Right, but it doesn't specify in the question that the sailing vessel is less than 20 m or if the sailing vessel is under power. The sailing vessel should turn starboard and call and confirm a port to port passage with the power driven vessel than initiated the warning signal. | |
