BOTH INTERNATIONAL & INLAND Two power-driven vessels are crossing so as to involve risk of collision. Which statement is TRUE, according to the Rules? | |
A) The vessel which has the other on her own port side shall keep out of the way. | |
B) The give-way vessel should keep the other vessel to her starboard. | |
C) If the stand-on vessel takes action, she shall avoid changing course to port. | |

More information is needed. Nothing says where the vessels are in relation to each other, only that they are in a crossing situation. We can’t say that the give way should not turn to port if we don’t know that the give way is on her port side or not. | |

RULE 17 Action by Stand-on Vessel (c) A power-driven vessel which takes action in a crossing situation in accordance with subparagraph (a)(ii) of this Rule to avoid collision with another power-driven vessel shall, if the circumstances of the case admit, not alter course to port for a vessel on her own port side. |
