Rule 26 on Trawling (below): No red light, answer (A and C) are not possible and therefore (D) is not possible either. The only answer left is (C)... which is possible for a >50m vessel ligned up rom the bow to see the aft masthead light above green and white... but this would give a W G W light NOT two W vertical... The answers are wrong. Rule 26; (b) A vessel when engaged in trawling, by which is meant the dragging through the water of a dredge net or other apparatus used as a fishing appliance, shall exhibit: Vessels Engaged in Trawling (i) two all-round lights in a vertical line, the upper being green and the lower white, or a shape consisting of two cones with their apexes together in a vertical line one above the other; (ii) a masthead light abaft of and higher than the all-round green light; a vessel of less than 50 meters in length shall not be obliged to exhibit such a light but may do so; (iii) when making way through the water, in addition to the lights prescribed in this paragraph, sidelights and a sternlight. |

Same answer for International and Inland; HOWEVER, International is under Annex II and Inland is under Rule 26. 26 (f) (ii) (1) (A) When shooting their nets: two white lights in a vertical line; (B) When hauling their nets: one white light over one red light in a vertical line; (C) When the net has come fast upon an obstruction: two red lights in a vertical line. |
