| Sound signals it can be used to signal your distress to other vessel during an emergency. The SOS emergency sound signal is 3 prolonged whistle blasts then 3 shortblasts than 3 prolonged blasts then pause and repeat |

| It would seem that this question violates the old adage that “the correct answer is the answer that ALWAYS applies”. Sound signals MAY be a distress signal (continuous fog signal, or SOS, but not RV or maneuvering signals)). Smoke signals MAY be a distress signal (if orange smoke, but no other color). Red flares are ALWAYS a distress signal. I guess you have to just push the “I believe” button on this one. |

| This is a very vague question. Recommend the answers be more specific as the list of distress signals is. |
