USCGQ.com Members, Thanks to your donations, we have just added forums to our site! Please feel free to post any questions you may have about the industry, question banks, or general coast guard licensing questions. There will be more features to come in the near future. Please reply to this post if you would like to request any ideas. -Shawn |

Thanks Timothylok, I'm trying to get some feedback without having to send out a massive email to everyone. Do you have any suggestions for additions to the site? |

well, I haven't had any significant issues with the current setup... However, I've been getting many "duplex / simplex pump" questions from the generals section. I guess my one complaint is that the random questions aren't pulling up the questions I really need to study...maybe it's just me... Edit: I forgot...maybe I should hide those questions :D |

Great, well hopefully with these new features it will make it easier to study specific groups of questions online and offline.

actually, I came up with an idea that might help me...not sure if this is a good idea though make it so that the answer system is a 2 click system: click once to select answer, and click on the submit button to make final decision...not sure if you guys tried that at all, but I found with the tap click on my laptop, I accidentally click my final answer too easily...it's minor though :D |

Alright, I'll see if I can add that into the user preferences.

Rather than (or in addition to) question logging I'd like to have "missed question logging."

Here is an example and the formula for these questions: Hope this helps: If you have a simplex single acting reciprocating pump making 120 strokes/minute, with a 3" diameter cylinder, a 4" stroke and operating with 95% volumetric efficiency, what is the capacity of this pump? Here is the Formula for this question: 1.5 x 1.5 x 3.14(pi)x 4" x 120/231 x 95% = 13.946 ( rounded to 14 GPM) a little more info for the formula: find the radius of the Cylinder ( 3/2= 1.5) (Radius Squared) 1.5 x 1.5 x Pi (3.14) x Stroke(4") x RPM(120) / 231 (231 is a constant)x Eff (95%)= 13.946 Any more help just ask...
