As I am going through the questions and I have noticed that the question bank is considerably less than the actual amount of questions in each chapter of the uscg books. Why is this?

Hi Thomas, first off thanks for using USCGQ. I'm assuming you are looking at the General Subjects book? You'll see a difference in numbering because we have combined those chapters in one continuous numbering system to prevent duplicate question numbers within the same book. For example if you open the General Subjects PDF from the coast guard website here and jump to question 453 (page 95). You'll see the numbers start again from 1, 2, 3.. on the next chapter. This numbering created a conflict for our system so we continued the numbering starting from the first chapter. So number #1 on the 2nd chapter is actually number 454 on our site. You can see that here: 453 & 454 (or #1 on Chapter 2) |

Thank you for responding. So just to confirm, all questions provided on this website contain ALL of the potential questions on the upcoming Third Assistant Engineer's USCG exam I would be taking in less than two weeks.

Yes, but keep in mind the site also contains questions that apply to licenses under and over the 3rd engineers exam.

Thomas, There are a lot more questions than this. When I sat for my 3rds Generals was 3600, Motors 2600, Safety 2100, Steam 1900, and electrical 1700 (now its more). Based of that pdf, they are using the test for limited hp/tonnage not unlimited. |

To help alleviate any concerns that some questions are not available on Regulations Effective to March 24, 2014, we've added the prior publication as well. Labeled "Deck_2014 or Engine_2014".
