Tiatia81, you are seeing a the port side of a vessel over 50 meters; port side light, two masthead lights, the aft being higher than the forward. Best guess (which is irrelevant to answering the question) would be a shallow port angle on the bow. The fact that the vessel is to port, displaying her port side light, means that a risk of collision does not exist....stand on.

In retrospect it's easy to say that GOLIVI. As for me if I see it I'm stopping/slowing engines and either easing to starboard or staying put for a moment. Don't like the angle of the masthead lights. suit yourselves.
